The Unified District information System for Education is one of the major initiatives to improve educational management information system in the state.
There are 1,10,315 schools imparting elementary education have been covered under the UDISE in the year 2017-18.
The UDISE is a schools base information System. The UDISE collects information of all schools from a uniform reference date i.e. 30th September of every year. This is the only system in India which covers and maintains comprehensive profile of each and every school, enrollment by age, class-wise, gender-wise. Details of infrastructure are also available on the UDISE. It has data of more than 7 lakhs database of teachers (i.e. Teachers by Caste, Joining Date, Class Taught, and Qualification- Academic and Professional etc.) UDISE software is user-friendly, menu-driven, time-tested and error-free with no scope of manipulation and is being used in the Maharashtra. MIS cells have been operational at both state and district levels.
